The Bible and marriage

Hi, Where in the Bible does it explicitly say that people must be married to have intercourse, and how does the Bible define marriage? Marriage in the Bible appears to be mainly legal and as a family insurance rather than an honourable promise of love to one another and before God.
From a guy, 23.

Hi,

The Bible talks a lot about the love between a man and a woman and God has a wonderful perspective on love. Read Song of Songs and 1 Corinthians 13.

The Bible also highlights topics like sexual morality, and neither the Old Testament nor the New Testament accept sexual intercourse outside of marriage. Adultery is the word used for sexual intercourse with someone other than the spouse, and you will often find it mentioned.

To find out more about what the Bible says about this topic, you can read the following Bible verses: 1 Corinthians 6:18–20; Hebrews 13:4; 1Corinthians 7:2,9; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5

Best wishes
