Scrotum

The scrotum is part of the male genitals hanging under the base of the penis. It contains the two testicles, which need a constant temperature in order for the sperm cells to function normally. In cold temperatures muscles under the skin of the scrotum pull the testicles nearer the body to keep warm, but in hotter temperatures the testicles are released to move further down in order to stay cooler.
