Withdrawal method

This means withdrawing the penis before ejaculation during sexual intercourse. Some people use this as a way to stop the woman getting pregnant, but it is a very unreliable method of contraception. This is because sperm can leave the penis long before ejaculation. This can happen when the man gets an erection, and shortly after a clear fluid leaves the urethral opening. This fluid is called pre-ejaculatory fluid. This means that the woman can get pregnant even though ejaculation occurs outside the vagina. Also known as coitus interruptus.
