Vaginal opening
The vaginal opening is the outermost part of the vagina. The woman’s external genitalia consist of the vaginal opening, the labia and the clitoris. The vaginal opening varies in appearance. The hymen lies a couple of centimetres inside the vaginal opening. The opening in the hymen often stretches the first time a woman has intercourse, but other things can also cause it to stretch, for example the use of tampons.
